LeToya has arrived! The Ne-Yo composed "Not Anymore" was just an introduction to what LeToya has in store on her forthcoming "Lady Love" release. On this Cory Bold (Keri Hilson "Alienated") produced second single, LeToya let's them know that she's taking no prisoners ("Swing batta batta!").

...The second single, much more deliberately an impact record, is the brash "She Ain't Got Sh!t On Me." Featuring a staccato synth intro and imprudent, irrepressible drums, "She Ain't Got Sh!t On Me" is destined to end up on dance floors and video countdowns everywhere, as the song delivers one of those rare moments LeToya terms "walking on water." Moreover, it's a leaps-and-bounds progression over her debut record, complete with cheeky, chiding vocals and delivery. "In the song, I'm not saying I'm perfect, but my man shouldn't bring another girl home," she chafes. "The song's not really about whether this girl he's cheating on with me has a fat ass or anything! It's more about the quality that I bring; how much I care for him. It's really a song for every middle-class woman. It's speaking for them." Other songs of note: "Don't Need You," a female anthem that's wholly LeToya's, in both demeanor and writing credits; the brilliantly poetic yet radio-friendly "Lazy;" "Good to Me," which details the quest for the perfect man, one who doesn't merely appease women by offering materialistic gifts known as "pacifiers." LeToya has a head on her shoulders for sure. And that head is certainly on straight.

No word on when the single will be going for adds just yet. In the meantime continue to support AND REQUEST "Not Anymore"!!!!

LeToya has been confirmed to perform The National Anthem this Sunday, May 10th (Mother's Day!) at the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets (GO ROCKETS!) NBA game! No word on if it will air at this time, but tip off is at 2:30pm on ABC.
 

High school graduation is just around the corner. In this economy it seems the stars have to align just right to pay for school or find a job. It is even harder for students struggling to make the grade. That struggle brought a pop star to Augusta.

News 12 was there as a former Destiny's Child member showed up at Laney High School. Power 107 staged the visit as students prepare for end of year testing. "Good luck to you all," said radio personality Miss Monique of Power 107. "You are the future."Former Destiny's Child star Latoya Luckett kicked things off on a high note as Laney High School students prepared for a week of testing.

"I love talking to them because I've been there before," said Luckett. "I can definitely relate." She sang and rapped about real life issues. From domestic violence to staying in school, nothing was off limits. "I want a serious answer," questioned Luckett. "What is important to you?" "My education," answered one of the students. "If you ain't got it...you ain't got nothing."

Laney High School reports the lowest graduation rate in Richmond County. Only 30 percent of students finish in 4 years. LeToya told students it is cool to be smart. "If I can come in and just touch one person then I'm happy," said LeToya. "I have done my job." With county graduation rates averaging 63 percent, Laney High is facing an uphill battle.

"The main reason that I wanted to come to this school was because of that issue," said LeToya. "There might be people in their life telling them what they can't do and more so bringing up the negative instead of the positive." For at least one day, everybody was on the same page and prepared to sing the same positive tune.

Atlanta rapper T.I. Played an active role in kicking off the It's Cool to be Smart program. Stars tour the country focusing on the young people. End of course testing runs through Thursday for all 10 Richmond County High Schools.

LeToya Luckett, an original member of Destiny's Child, didn't expect to wait three years between solo albums. After she released her first record, EMI announced that Capitol and Virgin would merge into the Capitol Music Group. In the midst of the restructuring, the group's executive vice president of urban music, Ronnie Johnson, died of a heart attack.

"When you get caught up in a merger and then lose someone who was so involved in your project, there's nothing you can do," says LeToya, who uses only her first name professionally. "You don't have control; you can't release another album. So you learn to be patient."

As she waited, she focused on figuring out some things about love, relationships and her personal growth as a woman, singer-songwriter and entrepreneur. Those life lessons are reflected in the songs on "Lady Love." The album is slated for release June 23.

LeToya established her solo status with a 2006 self-titled album. Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts with 165,000 copies, the set has since sold 529,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The lead single, "Torn," peaked at No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

The second time around, the Houston native says she wanted to write songs with a more fun, upbeat and edgy attitude. "The first album was more about getting adjusted to being solo and finding my lane," LeToya says. "It's still about soulful, feel-good music. However, I didn't want to be stuck in a comfort zone. I wanted to be freer, more daring vocally and lyrically to reflect the situations I've experienced."

The lead single, "Not Anymore," picks up from where "Torn" left off as LeToya sings about kicking a cheating boyfriend to the curb. The empowerment anthem -- co-written and co-produced by Ne-Yo -- is No. 53 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Another ballad, "Regret," is being groomed as the second single. But other songs, like the sassy "She Ain't Got S--t on Me," point to a different sound and side of the singer. "There's a lot of talk like that on this album," LeToya says. "My swag is different. People will be surprised."

Having appeared in the stage play "Rumors" early last year in Atlanta, LeToya continues to make inroads as an actor. She will make her feature film debut this summer in "Preacher's Kid," a drama starring Clifton Powell and Essence Atkins. In early June, LeToya will begin filming a role in "Five Killers" opposite Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl.

LeToya made her film debut last year, shooting the lead in Warner Brother's premiere first theatrical release, "Preacher's Kid", which will hit theaters this summer. For her next film project she is shooting the Lions Gate feature in the action comedy "Five Killers", opposite Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, which is currently shooting in Atlanta! Kutcher plays a former hit man whose life is turned upside down because someone from his past has paid a group of killers to bump him off.

Plot: A vacationing woman meets her ideal man, leading to a swift marriage. Back at home, however, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbors could be assassins who have been contracted to kill the couple. CONGRATULATIONS LETOYA!!!
